Pretty good video. Sometimes on a Monday it helps to have a little motivation before you step into the arena known as CrossFit. This isn't just for athletes or competitors, you can apply this to anything that is challenging in your day to day life. I think back to all the people who told Jess and I that opening a CrossFit Box might not be the best option for us. For months leading up to opening the doors at Vitality, I went back and forth and questioned my decision. Why? Why would I let other people affect what it was that we wanted to do? The answer looking back is pretty simple….it was fear of failure. If we never opened Vitality, then we wouldn't fail. The flipside to this that is often overlooked when people let outsiders influence a big decision…it is “what might have been”. In our case, never in a million years would we have ever come close to knowing “What might have been”. We would have justified it by saying that the economy would have kept us from being successful and we were smart to not take the risk. The bottom line was that no one else had any business telling me, “No, you shouldn't open a CrossFit”. Even though Jess and I are both very independent people, it is still hard to take risks and it is easy to listen to the voices of doubt from other people. In the end, the only voice that matters is yours and you decide what happens. I look back to what my life would be without Vitality and it is hard to imagine not doing what I love everyday and being surrounded by awesome people doing amazing things. Vitality is just one example, everyone has their dream that they are thinking about doing and my only advice is to not let anyone interfere with your dream. Most of the time, the people interfering will never have the stones to follow in your footsteps. They will never take the risk because they don't want to fail. However, with taking no risk, they will get no reward. I would rather fail 10 times then to never have had the chance to succeed and do something great. Have a great Monday!
