Hey guys, I have been asked by a few different people how we get our turf cleaned and thought I would put out a quick post on this to ease your mind. We just got our turf cleaned on Sunday and during the summer months will get it cleaned every 10-12 weeks. The winter is usually about 3-4 months as there is much less sweating going on. We use a carpet cleaning service that will apply a unique disenfectant that helps keep the turf clean and germ free. They will then steam clean the entire surface, making it as good as new. This is not a cheap process but is well worth it in order to keep the turf in great condition.
Some things you can do to help us get through these hot summer months:
1. Wipe down equipment when your done.
*Bring your own towel or you can use one of the lysol disinfectant wipes under the easel whiteboard.
2. Please don't drop the chalk balls on the turf during workouts. Leave them in the chalk bowls and if you need them, go and get them from the chalk bowl.
3. If you are someone who sweats alot, bring a towel and if your doing burpees on the turf or if you want to sprawl out at the end of your workout, lay a towel down in order to be courteous to the next person that will most likely be stretching in the same spot you were laying on.
*For Example, here is Ryan Horn's Towel…
4. If you come in the evening, or in the morning for that matter, and you have been on your feet all day, might not hurt to throw on another layer of deoderant. It doesn't take much to have the turf start smelling funky so please do your part to make sure your hygeine is on point.
