We have decided to add a sport specific strength and conditioning class at Vitality. It will meet on Mondays and Fridays at 4pm. The program design is developed to help prepare any high school athlete, male or female, for their sport. We will focus heavily on mobility and developing the proper technique in movements ranging from the snatch, clean and jerk, back squat, deadlift, kettlebell swing and pullup to name a few. This class will be different from normal group CrossFit classes. We are only going to take 12 athletes and we already have 7 signed up. If you are motivated, a team player, possess a positive attitude, and like to work hard….very hard, then this will be a good fit for you. If you don't possess those attributes, this class is most likely not going to be a good fit. I will ask a lot of these athletes in this program and I am excited to see the results as it comes time for their season to start. Stop wondering if you're going to be lucky enough to make the team this season. Remember, there is no such thing as luck. You make your own luck, one back squat at a time. My goal with this class is to mentally and physically prepare each athlete for the stress that is associated with competition. I have yet to find a solution to this that doesn't involve the feeling of being uncomfortable…..so I can promise that everyday, you will get better at getting comfortable with being uncomfortable.
