What Diet Are You On?
Paul Elliiott found this and sent this to me and we both laughed out loud. Seriously, how are people that behind the power curve to think that they can safely lose weight while eating fast food and drinking beer? Its frustrating to me because I want to give society a little more credit but no wonder we remain and will continue to remain the most overweight society in the world. I mean seriously, what do we think happens when you stop your weightwatchers kick because your sick of counting up points during your trips to McDonalds? I will help you out with your answer…..they will gain everything back and then some, you know why??? Because diets like this and many others don't change your bad eating habits and lets face it, if you can't give up beer and burgers, how long are you going to stick on a diet anyway….not long. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the occasional stop at a fast food restaurant or drinking beer….the key would be MODERATION and that is where many of us lose this battle.
Below is why we are so overweight and until this gets adjusted, we will continue to be overweight. So while the rest of the world goes to dieticians who will put them on appetite suppresants and whatever else medication while preaching to them the huge benefits from a low fat, low protein diet will continue to be on blood pressure meds, high cholesterol meds and borderline obese.
Remember guys, you don't have to be 100% Paleo, if you just remain conscious of your food choices and try to stay in the 75-80% range, you will be amazed at how your body and performance changes for the better. Paleo is NOT a diet, it is a lifestyle. Diets don't work because they aren't sustainable. Paleo works because it is highly sustainable and practical. Will it cost you more money to eat better? Absolutely. It is a game of give and take and you have to give a little more financially up front but will reap the benefits with your health as you become older andare able to spend less of your free time at the Doctor's Office and more of your free time at Vitality hitting some heavy front squats.
Simply follow the above to the best of your ability and you will be amazed at what happens. Throw occasional cheats in there, it helps keep your sanity. You will feel the difference when you do stray from the above and you won't like the consequences.
Stop falling into the trap of the fad diets. They won't work! Read the book below and everything will make sense.
One more thing. I am not sure how to say this correctly but….there are alot of stupid people out there. People will think your crazy for eating like this, they will poke fun and try and convince you 100 reasons why you shouldn't do this. The majority of them are just trying to hold you back and keep you from your goals, some are actually worried about your well being but don't have the knowledge to understand why you are changing the way you view nutrition. It will be a lonely journey in the beginning and then you are gonig to feel 100x better and look different and all your friends will want to know what you are doing and how they can buy the magic “pill” that you ate that got you the results. People need to realize there is no magic “Pill”. Only hard work and discipline to continue to make good choices. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it and everyone would be healthy, the truth is, it isn't that hard, we are just a lazy society with no discipline and we would rather sit in front of the TV/Computer all day than invest into our health which will, quicker than they ever imagined possible, make them a prisoner to their own body and investing into a massive pillbox to take with them that contains all their medications so that they can function daily. Maybe we should invest in a company that has the scooters in the mall and shopping centers, odds are, those are going to be a precious commodity in the near future for alot of folks. Pretty soon we will have to have driving lanes in those places as the people able to walk will be highly outnumbered by those that cannot/choose not to.
These were made for those actually need them, not for those that chose to eat garbage and become so deconditioned that they literally cannot use their own legs to get from place to place. Really? This is the road we are heading down and no one can see that somewhere along the way we may have taken a wrong turn?
