When the opportunity to work at Vitality arose, I was thrilled to continue to build on my knowledge of CrossFit and focus on practicing it at a deeper level

Growing up, I loved competing and playing sports. Soccer was my sport of choice and I played competitively into my college years. In 2007, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree at Eastern Mennonite University where I was fortunate enough to play soccer at the collegiate level. I also studied coaching while at EMU. Throughout those years, my appreciation of fitness and the benefits one derives from it on and off the field began to grow and develop.

In the spring of 2012, I decided to take my love for fitness more seriously by becoming certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (“NSCA”). Upon earning my certification, I opened my own personal training business where I trained individual clients out of my garage gym and held small group sessions for local school teachers and sports teams. Although I was not officially associated with CrossFit at the time, I often found myself studying CrossFit’s techniques and methodologies when training clients. It was evident to me how effective CrossFit was from an overall fitness perspective with its focus on practicing each of the ten recognized fitness domains.

When the opportunity to work at Vitality arose, I was thrilled to continue to build on my knowledge of CrossFit and focus on practicing it at a deeper level. In 2014 I starting working at Vitality full-time. I’ve worked in a variety of capacities including coaching CF teens, CF kids, and CF adult group classes. I also conduct personal training sessions specializing in working with teenage athletes and individuals with back injuries.

In January 2016 I helped start the ēvoFIT program at Vitality. Since then we have grown to 300+ members. I am currently the Program Director and design all the workouts for our classes.
