Some details on the paleo challenge from Jess
Since Jess can be so much more politically correct on some topics than I tend to be, I decided to let her talk a little bit about the upcoming Paleo Challenge here at Vitality. My thoughts on the Paleo Challenge are very simple….if you haven’t done it, do it. Stop being lazy and making excuses. Try it for 6-weeks and if you can honestly tell me it doesn’t make you feel better, then never speak the word paleo again. If you have already done it, congrats, why not do it again to test your discipline, but more importantly, get healthy? Enjoy Jess’ supportive thoughts below:)
As the New Year approaches we all set our sites on some type of resolution; something we resolve to do better, to do more, or to do less. And typically we start off the year pretty well, but as we get farther from January, our old habits start to show their ugly faces.
Well this January, we challenge you not to make a New Year’s Resolution, but instead a lifestyle change. Our Vitality 6 week Paleo Challenge begins in two weeks, and although the challenge is only 6 weeks long, the nutritional concepts you will learn, and habits you will develop, will last a lifetime. The Paleo Challenge is a commitment to eliminate grains, dairy, alcohol, and sugar from your diet for six weeks. If you don’t like the way you feel and the way your body looks after that, you are free to return to your old way of eating.
Mid February is always my favorite time of year at Vitality as I get to see the results of all the Paleo Challenge Participants’ hard work and discipline. Not only do their bodies change and become more lean and muscular, but they have more energy and are accomplishing new goals and PRs in the gym (first muscle up, first pull up, PR one mile run, PR clean and jerk). We all work so hard in the gym, why continue to sabotage those efforts with a poor diet?
So we encourage you all to take this challenge and change the way you look at food! Steve and I, and all our Vitality coaches will be here for you every step of the way. We will take your measurements, photos, weight, and data on a baseline workout pre and post challenge, and we will set up a blog for participants to share recipes, ask questions and support each other on the journey. We also will have a Paleo Challenge seminar (Thursday, January 9th at 7pm and Saturday, January 11th at 6pm) to explain the details of the diet and the challenge. So make the commitment to yourself and your health this January. It will change your life forever!
